Generator is a source, not a load, when it is supplying load, if it is a more reactive load , its KVAR would be more. Suppose if it is a 50 KVA generator, it can supply 30 KW + 40 KVAR, 40 KW+30 KVAR, So the same generator can generate 40 KW, 30 KW depends on reactive consumption, But KVA would be constant or maximum it can of 50 KVA.
But Motor is a load
